One expert suggests that the Atlanta Braves make a trade to get another ace after losing their star player, Spencer Strider, to yet another injury.

On April 16, Strider returned from UCL surgery. However, he was placed on the injured list due to a hamstring injury after only one start. The Braves should trade for Sonny Gray from the St. Louis Cardinals, according to MLB expert Zach Pressnell of Newsweek, following the injury.

Strider will miss at least two starts, even if this doesn’t seem like a big concern. It is well known that hamstring strains can persist for weeks. Therefore, it’s difficult to predict when the righty will return to full health,” Pressnell noted. The Braves may wish to make a big deal for a starting pitcher in light of that.

“Sonny Gray, the star of the St. Louis Cardinals, is the ideal choice,” Pressnell continued. Despite being among the league’s greatest pitchers for the past few seasons, Gray is seldom ever mentioned in the upper echelons of the game. The Braves are in dire need of a reliable, seasoned arm like Gray right now, and it is difficult to match his consistency.

Gray, who might improve the Braves’ rotation, is in the second year of a three-year, $75 million contract with the Cardinals. Pressnell believes Atlanta should try to get Gray since the team had a sluggish start and cannot afford to drop farther in the postseason chase.

Gray has made five starts this season and is 3-0 with a 3.41 ERA. He has been an All-Star three times.

Braves’ Strider Hoping to Return ASAP

On April 16, Strider finally returned to the main leagues, although it was his lone appearance before returning to the injured list.

Strider stated that he is trying all in his power to return to the mound after being placed on the disabled list due to a hamstring ailment.

“It sucks,” Strider added. “Over the past year, I have done nothing at all to support this group and this organization. I eventually reached a stage where I could assist us win games and be paid. And now, as they wave equipment over me, I’m back on a table. I’ll do all in my power to return to the world as quickly as possible.

Strider is angry with the way things turned out, but he doesn’t know how the injury occurred.

Strider remarked, “I have no explanation for it.” “I’ve been considering one for a long time. Really, the only explanation I can think of is that you get deconditioned to throwing. I hadn’t contributed for more than a year. Routine is good for the body. Additionally, pitching is a really demanding and violent activity, and I hadn’t done it in a long time. I have no idea why that didn’t occur in my bullpen or on my 400-foot throw the other day.

Braves Manager Hopeful Strider Returns Soon

Strider is a key member of the Braves’ rotation and Atlanta’s ace.

Atlanta received positive news on Strider, despite the disheartening news that he is once again wounded. Strider had a Grade 1 strain, the least serious of the three classifications, according to his MRI. So, Brian Snitker, the manager of the Braves, is hoping he can make a comeback soon.

“Everybody is different as far as how long it takes them, but I think this was the best possible outcome,” Snitker said.

The Braves are last in the NL East with a record of 10-14.
