One of the most gifted athletes on the transfer site just committed to the Duke Blue Devils.
Despite having a 35-4 record at the end of the previous season, Duke has now lost a number of talented players to the NBA draft. Khaman Maluach, Tyrese Proctor, Kon Knueppel, and Cooper Flagg all submitted their applications for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Jon Scheyer and the Duke coaching staff will be happy to hear that Cedric Coward will be joining the Blue Devils for the next campaign.
Coward discussed his choice to transfer from Washington State to Duke after he committed.
“The entire starting five is departing,” Coward said. “How will they replace that, then? However, from my point of view, you have Isaiah Evans, Pat Ngongba, the Boozer brothers, Caleb Foster, and me. Like, the smallest man on our team is 6’4 and we have killers.”
Coward made it apparent that Duke is ready for another great season even though they will lose some of the ACC’s best players.
“There are many talented players on our squad, and there are also many men who are murderers who only want to do whatever it takes to win for us. Every man has the capacity and aptitude to accomplish anything on any given evening.
Coward averaged 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game during his time at Washington State. After playing for Eastern Washington for two seasons, that was his only season with the Cougars.

According to Coward, Jon Scheyer’s Duke Blue Devils shouldn’t skimp on anything the next season.
Duke features a few former blue-chip prospects like Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, and Patrick Ngongba who should see a huge increase in productivity, even if they may be losing important players from their run to the Final Four.
