A new era is being ushered in in a number of ways, including the St. Louis Cardinals’ decision to replace John Mozeliak at the end of this season with Chaim Bloom. Masyn Winn, the Cardinals’ potential star shortstop, is spearheading the team’s embrace of the young movement this season.

Jeff Passan of ESPN recognized the explosive Cardinals shortstop in the 2028–29 class and forecasted the next group of $100 million free agents. You can get a decent deal only by virtue of Winn’s defensive skills, which positions him to be a Gold Glove candidate for years to come. Winn’s youth and ability to develop into a well-above-average hitter are what make him alluring.

Despite having a poor start to the season, Winn has managed to improve his early-season stats. Winn was pounding as Tuesday rolled around. 268 with two stolen bases and three home homers. Winn will be a consistent 20-20 player for the Cardinals if he starts to use his speed and gains more pop.

Given that he will be 28 years old and entering the early prime of his career in the 2030 season, Winn’s youth also assists him in this regard. The Cardinals shortstop is expected to get a contract for $100 million, if Winn’s hitting improves.
