Kyle Freeland has hit a breaking point as the Colorado Rockies approach historically difficult terrain. The veteran pitcher delivered an impassioned plea to the devoted Rockies supporters following the team’s heartbreaking 10-2 defeat to the Detroit Tigers, which sent them to a startling 6-31.

“Remain optimistic about us. Continue riding.

Following Game 1 of the doubleheader, Guerilla Sports broadcast a video on X, previously Twitter, that recorded the six-word message, given with glazed eyes. After losing Game 2, the Rockies’ record plummeted to 6-31, matching the 1988 Orioles for the poorest start in Major League Baseball through 37 games.

Freeland isn’t just having a difficult season; he’s currently 0-5 with a 6.41 ERA. He is witnessing Colorado baseball’s once-promising core devolve into anarchy. Freeland, who was a vital member of the Rockies’ back-to-back postseason teams in 2017 and 2018, is now the face of a struggling pitching staff beset by mistakes, inconsistencies, and waning confidence.

One of the night’s lowlights was when Ryan McMahon, a previous Glove Gold contender, had another huge inning when a simple grounder got through his glove’s webbing. It was Colorado’s third defensive blunder of the day, indicating that the problems go well beyond the mound.

“#Rockies When comparing the Tigers’ and Royals’ turnaround efforts, Kyle Freeland said, “What they’re doing is right, what we’re doing is wrong.” Furthermore, we’re losing baseball games. Overall, we’re playing a subpar version of baseball. “Pitch, field, hit,” the Detroit Post’s Patrick Saunders wrote.

Fans of the Rockies, who have seen the team veer toward a third consecutive season with 100 losses, can relate to Freeland’s candor. It’s obvious that the Rockies will have a rough summer ahead of them, since win total wagers have been removed off the board and postseason ambitions have already been shattered. However, there may still be hope in the clubhouse and the spectators if Freeland’s sincere appeal is heard.
