Assuming recent transfer addition Cedric Coward withdraws from the NBA Draft before the May 28 deadline, the fourth Duke basketball team under Jon Scheyer’s leadership now has 12 players, including two seniors and two graduate talents, following the announcement of Jack Scott’s pledge on Sunday night.

Scott is a 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard from Pelican Island, N.J., who participated in over half of Princeton’s games in each of his three campaigns with the Tigers but never averaged more than 13 minutes per appearance. In 10.1 minutes per game over 67 games, he scored 2.2 points and pulled down 1.8 rebounds while shooting 37.9 percent from the field, 24.5 percent from three, and 59.6 percent from the free throw line.

During Jon Scheyer’s three years in Durham, he is the second former Princeton player to move to the Duke basketball program. After three seasons with the Tigers, then-rising senior guard Max Johns joined the Blue Devils in 2022 as Jack Scott got ready for college, although he only played in nine games.

Scott is likely to be a member of the scout squad during Duke basketball workouts, much like Johns was.
