Many Tigers supporters were worried when it was revealed that Shadarius Toodle, a 4-star Auburn football pledge, would be visiting Georgia on an official basis. Regretfully, it appears that the top prospect’s weekend excursion to Athens could not have gone any better.

Steve Wiltfong of On3 predicted just a moment ago that Kirby Smart and company would flip and destroy Hugh Freeze’s day. According to Wiltfong’s most recent update, Toodle will now be under “flip watch.” It would undoubtedly be a severe setback for Freeze and his 2026 recruitment attempts if this were to fail:

Georgia is predicted to flip 4-star Auburn linebacker commit Shadarius Toodle

Freeze has a rather early commitment because Toodle has been headed to Auburn since late July. Nevertheless, a number of teams have stepped up their efforts, and numerous formal trips have been scheduled. Toodle is anticipated to take an OV to Michigan, Baylor, North Carolina, and Auburn (June 13) in addition to his trip to Auburn.

But it’s now completely unclear if Toodle will actually follow through on his visitation plan, particularly if Wiltfong’s forecast turns out to be accurate. Georgia would make a splash with this acquisition, particularly after the team wasted money on 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell the previous week.

Although Toodle plays a different position, Smart would gain much-needed momentum in the recruiting process if he were to pull a quick one on an SEC opponent. This cycle, Toodle received 34 offers. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is the ninth-ranked linebacker in the nation, the tenth-ranked Alabama prospect, and the 168th-ranked athlete overall.

As of right now, Toodle is still headed to Auburn for ’26, but it appears that Freeze is fighting to keep him on board. Sadly, Auburn supporters may have to consider the possibility that Toodle may wear a Dawgs shirt rather than a Tigers one at the next level.
