As the White Sox reconstruction proceeds, they’re anticipated to be aggressive in the trade market.
The last major deal the club made greatly enhanced the farm system. In return for prospects Kyle Teel, Braden Montgomery, Chase Meidroth, and Wikelman Gonzalez, rated No. 17, who were all among the top eight White Sox prospects, the White Sox traded their star pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox in December.
There may be more offers coming up shortly. In a recent piece, MLB.com national correspondent Mark Feinsand named the White Sox as one of six teams that might boost the trade market.
In addition to Andrew Vaughn, Josh Rojas, Mike Tauchman, and Bryse Wilson beginning their final offseason eligible for arbitration, he mentioned that Austin Slater and Michael A. Taylor would soon become free agents. However, the White Sox don’t have many trade candidates because of their play or injuries this season.
Luis Robert Jr., a former All-Star and Gold Glove center fielder who leads the American League in stolen bases with 17, was one of the long-discussed options Feinsand highlighted. He has $20 million club options in 2026 and 2027, but he’s only hitting.178/.270/.294 with five home runs. In Chicago on Tuesday, Robert said that he doesn’t believe any club will risk him, but things may change.
“If Robert can bounce back over the next month or so, he could wind up being one of the more intriguing trade candidates this summer,” Feinsand said. “But it will depend largely on his production between now and July 31.”
On the pitching staff, Feinsand named two pitchers as potential trade candidates: Cam Booser and Davis Martin. Martin has finished two of his longest big league starts, totaling 14 innings pitched with only three earned runs, against the Reds and Mariners. That lowered the right-hander’s ERA to 3.49 through 56.2 innings. Additionally, he might draw offers because he is 28 years old and has five years of team control.

Booser is a left-handed reliever who is 33 years old and has a fastball in the upper 90s. As seen by the most recent Mariners series, when he let up a late grand slam and then returned the next day to shut out the eighth inning, he has had ups and downs this season. He has a 5.71 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched this season.
