Even without ace outfielder Mike Trout, the Los Angeles Angels have stabilized themselves following a challenging 2025 season debut. Trout has been dealing with an injury for a while now, which has kind of been a recurring theme in his career.
However, Trout took the next step toward recovery on Tuesday, jogging a little, which is a positive indication on a poor knee, according to MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger, who also provided a critical injury update.
Bollinger posted on X, the former Twitter, that Mike Trout ran the bases lightly today. Before tomorrow’s game, he will also experience live pitching in a simulation environment. He still needs to run the bases aggressively and start and stop and cut.”
Obviously, Trout isn’t quite on the edge of returning, but the fact that he was making his way around the bases is a very promising indicator for his recovery. The Angels will welcome Trout back whenever he is ready to play because he has only been in 29 games this season and has been sidelined since April 30.
The Angels will be especially careful when it comes to Trout’s return since he has had problems with injuries that have persisted and then resurfaced during the season. It’s doubtful that Trout would return to the field before he is fully recovered from this ailment, which might worsen into a longer-term one.
Trout will be aiming to return to the lineup and find a better groove at the plate than he had before leaving. The former MVP is only hitting.179 this season, with nine home runs and eighteen RBIs. Trout has to increase his efficiency in order to return to his peak, even though his power stats appear to be acceptable.

Los Angeles moved Trout to right field this season in an effort to keep him healthy and relieve some of his workload, and he is also getting used to his new position. The Angels will have an opportunity to seriously contend for an American League postseason berth if he settles in upon his comeback.
