On Wednesday afternoon, the San Francisco Giants broadcast was rudely awakened. According to accounts, during Detroit’s game versus the San Francisco Giants, a member of the Tigers grounds crew had a concerning injury. The Tigers organization member was obviously opposed to being recorded, even though he was appreciative of the assistance he received from the medical professionals. How am I aware of this? Why not take a look?

Even though I don’t think this will work out well for that particular member of the grounds crew, we have to give him credit for creating the season’s meme. This Tigers grounds crew member can express exactly how frustrated a fan base is with almost anything, and it’s even more hilarious that his response was broadcast live on television for an uncomfortably long time.

Don’t kick a man when he’s down is a hard lesson that NBC Sports Bay Area learned on Wednesday. Although the aforementioned member of the grounds crew sustained injuries, he is not an umpire, manager, or player. Not everyone wants to go on live television, especially when they’re at their lowest point.

Upset Tigers grounds crew member is one of us

In terms of the actual game, Detroit prevailed 4–3. The Tigers were losing when the injury occurred. Fans went crazy about a goose that showed up on the Comerica Park pitch not so long ago, when the Tigers were losing, which led to many Detroit comebacks. Why can’t this actual, living human being serve as an unofficial mascot, just like a goose can? Other than the potential FCC fines resulting from NBC Bay Area giving the incorrect finger for about ten seconds, I don’t see any problems. That’s on the vehicle, not the person on the premises. I can talk from experience.

This will surely be forgotten because of the Tigers’ on-field performance in what has been an outstanding season thus far. Tigers supporters will have an instant meme in their back pocket, though, if Detroit loses before the ALCS, as they did the previous season despite an incredible run to the playoffs.

Really, we can’t ask for much more than that.
