As the head coach of Duke basketball, Jon Scheyer holds a 1-0 record against Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans, thanks to a 74-65 victory in the 2023 Champions Classic at Chicago’s United Center. Now entering his fourth year at the helm, Scheyer will aim to improve that mark to 2-0 when his talented Blue Devils team heads to East Lansing for a true road test in non-conference play.

Rumors of the next Duke-Michigan State showdown began circulating back in January, but it wasn’t until this week that the matchup became official. The Blue Devils’ social media account confirmed the highly anticipated clash is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Spartans’ Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Duke’s road test against Michigan State is set to come just four days after Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils host the reigning national champion Florida Gators at Cameron Indoor Stadium as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.

In addition to the marquee home showdown with Florida and the trip to East Lansing, Duke will also hit the road for a true away game against Army.

The Blue Devils’ non-conference slate is stacked with high-profile matchups at neutral sites as well, including battles against Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Texas Tech, and Michigan—further underscoring Scheyer’s aggressive scheduling strategy in Year 4 at the helm.
