In South Bend, Indiana, the next phase of the legacy of Hall of Fame wide receiver will begin.

On Saturday night, Larry informed Hayes Fawcett of Rivals that his son, Devin Fitzgerald, has committed to play for Notre Dame. Devin is a three-star talent who attended Phoenix’s Brophy College Preparatory.

Devin chose the Fighting Irish over UCLA, Stanford, and Clemson, according to Fawcett.

Larry, 41, is regarded as one of the best wide receivers in both professional and NCAA football history. After having a 1,000-yard rookie campaign in 2002, he had an incredible 2003 at Pittsburgh, catching 92 catches for 1,672 yards and 22 touchdowns. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame even though he only played for the Panthers for two seasons.

He went on to have a stellar 17-year career with the Arizona Cardinals, where he finished second on the all-time receiving yards chart and made 11 Pro Bowls.
