A Judge

Maybe Aaron Judge was enraged by President Donald Trump’s pregame remarks.

After meeting with Trump, who referred to him as a “fantastic player,” the New York Yankees star, who is vying for his third MVP award in four years, hit two home runs during the Bronx Bombers’ 9-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

When Trump visited the clubhouse on the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, he praised Judge’s 6-foot-7, 282-pound physique.

“If you have that much muscle, you have to hit the ball further,” Trump stated. “You’re a fantastic player.”

Trump also made a joke about wanting Judge to be “a little bigger.”

Judge hit his 45th and 46th home runs of the season in his first and second at-bats, respectively. With the second, he tied Joe DiMaggio for fourth place with 361 home runs on the Yankees’ all-time list.

On his third plate appearance, he was plunked on the first pitch, which caused a lot of jeers. He went 3-for-4 on the evening with a single in the fifth and a strikeout looking in the eighth.

The defending MVP, Judge, is presently facing up against Cal Raleigh, a catcher for the Seattle Mariners, who has already hit an MLB-high 53 home runs despite having a.241 batting average and an OPS that is about 200 points behind Judge’s. Juddge would become the first Yankee to win consecutive MVP Awards since Roger Maris in 1960 and 1961 if he wins this year.

Additionally, since DiMaggio won the MVP Award three times in four years from 1939 to 1942, he would be the first Yankees player to do it.
