At Fenway Park on Friday night, the Boston Red Sox begin a crucial three-game series against the New York Yankees. The game airs on Apple TV+ and begins at 7:10 p.m. ET.
Heidi Watney, a former NESN reporter, will join the broadcast team as a reporter for “Friday Night Baseball” on Apple TV+. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable Sportsnet in Los Angeles, MLB Network, and Apple TV+, she was employed by NESN from 2008 until 2011.
After nine years with MLB Network, Watney is on his fourth year with Apple TV+. She still has a particular place in her heart for Boston, Fenway Park, and the Red Sox, though.
“I always enjoy returning to Beantown!” she said in a post on X to promote the program on Friday night.
Watney, 44, who is married and has two kids, also talked about her happy recollections of Boston with Chad Finn of Boston.com.
“It feels like home,” Watney remarked. “I have the utmost love for this city. I frequently return to see pals. Every time we have Red Sox games, I beg for them. I get really excited when I enter Fenway and see people I know from my time there, including the security guards and the club members, and when I hear “Sweet Caroline” in the eighth inning. It triggers a wave of recollections.
