The Philadelphia Phillies are in dire need of outfield assistance due to Nick Castellanos’ quick deterioration and Harrison Bader’s potential departure. Fortunately, an MLB team is trying to trade a talented outfielder.
All-Star outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, may be the greatest fit for the Phillies, according to Fansided’s Christopher Kline, as both teams need an outfielder and the Red Sox need to clear their outfield.

“Jarren Duran has long seemed like one of the most sensible—and reachable—targets for the Phillies, who desperately need outfield bats. Wilyer Abreu is a better defender and has a longer window of control, thus Boston should give unloading Duran first priority if the Red Sox want to clear up their outfield mess. Roman Anthony and Ceddanne Rafaela are obviously not moving, according to Kline.
Duran cut this past season. 256/.332/.442/.774 in 157 games played, with 41 doubles, 13 triples, 16 home runs, 84 RBI, and 24 stolen bases. With Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the lineup, he would be an instant sparkplug for the Phillies’ attack, creating an incredible 1-2-3.
With their top prospects graduating, the Red Sox are shifting into a win-now mode, thus they probably won’t want prospects in return. If Boston loses Alex Bregman to free agency, it would be much simpler to negotiate a trade, but Philly will need to offer some MLB players to make it a worthwhile offer.
The Red Sox should be prepared to trade Duran, and the Phillies should be able to make a compelling enough offer to move to the top of the list.
