The Auburn Tigers basketball team lost 84-74 to Missouri on the road on Wednesday night, following a thrilling victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Tigers are now 1-3 in the conference and 10-7 overall.

First-year head coach Steven Pearl disclosed that the squad is having leadership issues in his post-game remarks. The remarks followed Pearl’s repeated statements that they had a problem with players arriving late for events.
Pearl stated after the game on the Auburn Sports Network radio show, “We probably lost this game before we even got here,” according to Auburn Undercover. “Today’s shootaround and film didn’t have the best body language. We must comprehend the reason behind that. That must be me, and I need to do a better job of instilling the proper mindset in our guys. This team needs some leadership to take the initiative.
Due to players arriving late, Pearl has had to make multiple lineup adjustments lately. In particular, Tahaad Pettiford was taken out of the starting lineup, while freshman Kaden Magwood has been sidelined for the last few games.
He continued by saying that if the club wants to win games, they need to work more.
“Yeah, we’re not good enough to just show up,” Pearl replied. “Every night, we must be eager to play and put up the same amount of effort and enthusiasm as we did against Arkansas on Saturday. We didn’t have the same fire pregame before today, so I’m not sure. We had a few excellent sessions, but once we arrived, I simply didn’t see the same level of focus, intensity, and enthusiasm that was required to defeat a very strong Missouri team today.
The Tigers will host South Carolina on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Neville Arena.
After the Mizzou defeat, Steven Pearl discloses a serious problem with the Auburn Tigers basketball team. This item was first published on flywareagle.com.
