After the season concluded, Auburn jumped right into work, hiring Alex Golesh, the former head coach of the USF Bulls. He and his staff have begun working on the 2027 recruiting class as he enters his first offseason with the Tigers.

The Tigers have only committed to one player thus far, but they are interested in a number of others. Jayden Miles, a running back from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is among them. According to Rivals Industry Rankings, he is a four-star recruit who stands at 6′ 2″ and weighs 200 pounds. He is ranked No. 13 among running backs and No. 215 among all players in the country.

Auburn's loyalty has Tigers 'pretty high' for 4-star RB Moonie Gipson

His fight for his commitment is fierce. The Texas Tech Red Raiders, Texas A&M Aggies, Oklahoma Sooners, Houston Cougars, and LSU Tigers have all extended offers to him.

He and Auburn have shown interest in each other. The Tigers were one of the teams that recruited him the most, Miles previously told Rivals. On Nov. 29, he then paid the program an unauthorized visit.

But there are indications that the Tigers will have a bad outcome. Shea Dixon of the Rivals recorded an expert forecast that Miles would commit to LSU. Dixon has made 104 forecasts in total, and 87.5% of them have come true.

4-star RB Quinterrius 'Moonie' Gipson visits Auburn, will return soon

It would be painful to lose the fight, but Auburn has other choices. Quinterrius Gipson, a four-star running back, is one of them. Rivals lists Gipson as the No. 9 running back and No. 139 overall recruit of the 2027 class, and the Tigers have a 43.9% probability of acquiring him if they make an offer.
