Texas Longhorns on Saturday announced Steve Sarkisian will have his quarterback in the 2027 class.

Following his visit to the Forty Acres for Junior Day, the 6’3, 202-pound quarterback received an offer from the Longhorns last month, making him the sole quarterback who had not committed.
Following months of evaluation by Texas, which included watching Knutson play throughout his high school football season with co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee, the offer was made.
Knutson’s opinion was more crucial because Texas had no pending offers to uncommitted 2027 quarterbacks after Palestine standout Kavian Bryant sided with Texas Tech last November and Louisiana prospect Peyton Houston committed to the home-state Tigers.
The 6’3, 202-pound player has received offers from North Texas, Tulane, UTSA, UTEP, UTRGV, Houston, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. San Diego State, Syracuse, and South Carolina all made offers after Texas did.
Some of those offers aren’t committable right now, which reduces Knutson’s genuine competition during a difficult quarterback recruiting season for the Longhorns, which recently signed top-10 talent Dia Bell, Arch Manning’s possible replacement.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Knutson is a three-star prospect who is listed as the No. 51 quarterback and 729th overall. According to the Composite team rankings, Texas now has the sixth commitment in the class, which is ranked ninth nationally.
