Head coach Kalen DeBoer started reorganizing his coaching staff shortly after Alabama’s season ended at the hands of the eventual National Champion Indiana Hoosiers. The firing of offensive lineman Chris Kapilovic was one of the most significant adjustments.

Although it didn’t take Kapilovic long to establish his new role, Alabama supporters may laugh heartily about it. Evidently unable to succeed at Alabama, Kapilovic brought his skills to Auburn, where he was hired as a Tigers analyst.
Kapilovic will support Tyler Hudanick, Auburn’s first-year offensive line coach, who joined the school with Alex Golesh as its new head coach. DeBoer had witnessed everything he needed to see from Kapilovic after two seasons at Alabama, including poor offensive line play and failing to defend quarterback Ty Simpson.
The three sacks that Indiana gave Simpson in the Rose Bowl, which culminated in a 38-3 loss to the Hoosiers, were perhaps the final straw. The Crimson Tide will encounter a familiar face in the Iron Bowl at Auburn, but they will likely be relieved to see him on the opposing team.
In 2025, the offensive line’s performance drastically deteriorated after giving up just 24 total sacks, which opened the door for 2,260 running yards in the run game. This past season marked the start of the regression, as the line gave up 32 total sacks and contributed just 1,562 rushing yards—nearly 800 fewer than the previous season. In 2025, Jam Miller, the top rusher, ran for just 504 yards and three touchdowns.
Under new offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, a three-time NFL Super Bowl champion with a wealth of coaching experience in the NFL with the Steelers and Patriots, as well as in college with Oregon and UCLA, the Tide will begin a new era in the offensive line room.
