In a postgame press conference following the Wildcats’ 102-85 loss to rival Kansas on Saturday in the Sunflower Showdown, Driscoll stated, “I think the people who are getting the most overlooked in this whole thing is the staff.” K-State’s regular season record in the Big 12 is 12-19, 3-15. Tuesday in Kansas City, the Wildcats take on BYU to start the Big 12 Tournament. KU is 12-6, 22-9.

It’s really challenging for what they have to do and how they have to do it on a daily basis.

Additionally, the sand is running out, and the keys won’t function for very long. You now need to decide what to do with your family, especially those who have little children.

“I have also been there. I’ve been there with two young boys. However, just like the athletes, the staff has persevered.

“They’ve done a fantastic job of ensuring that these men are as accurate as we can be. Then there are in-game choices, in-game tactics, scouting, and everything else that is required. I don’t want to do this and I don’t love it.

“I don’t want to do this.

“And I’m appreciative that they recognize it and continue to provide me with information, comments, and explanations of how we managed to accomplish this and that.

Furthermore, I’m by no means flawless. I make mistakes, but those guys go unnoticed. And I want everyone to know that our staff deserves a great deal of credit for what has happened over the past two to three weeks, and I’m honored to be with them.

Jerome Tang fired

During remarks he made disparaging his team during the Wildcats’ home loss to Cincinnati, Tang was fired on February 15. With prior head coaching experience, Driscoll attempted to turn an otherwise disappointing season around. K-State had a 2-5 record under Driscoll.

Driscoll has a lot of experience as a coach. He is familiar with the game’s regulations. Successful coaches are nonetheless unemployed. In general, unsuccessful coaches don’t.

Driscoll stated, “I think the marketability has been the most troubling because everything you see is under the microscope.”

You’re on national television today on CBS. Thus, a few of these athletes are competing for contracts. They are competing for contracts in the upcoming NCAA season.

“They’re playing for contracts, possibly professionally, and [the staff is trying to get a job], so there are a lot of different things where marketability is focused, and what you do will always be there because the video doesn’t lie.”

That’s been the case for me personally; I’m 61 years old, and I’m thankful because I’m thrifty and a little awkward. I can sort out life when I return to my house, which is two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean.

However, that isn’t the case for everyone. Therefore, the most difficult part of my everyday life has been sitting in my seat and being who I am.

“The awareness of where they are, where they are heading, and where my thoughts were when I had two small children.” And because God has bigger plans for each of us, we will all finish up well and in a nice position.

But it’s difficult. I’m attempting to deal with that. I’m attempting to find the players where they are. Do guys not want to play, you know? Are they interested in playing? Do they wish to enter? Are they unwilling to enter? Are they doing this? Do they that?

“You know, I told P.J. [Haggerty] at the conclusion of the game [the] reason I’m taking you out is I don’t want you to trip or get harmed by accident and then realize that your arm is back and you can’t play on Tuesday.

Therefore, even though I was born yesterday, I wasn’t born last night.

“As a result, navigating all of that stuff has been really challenging because, in the past, things would probably be very different, but you have no levers.”
