When he updated his X avatar and uploaded a Powercat to social media, your benevolent despot remarked, “It’s a little weird to be adding someone to the coaching staff in March.”

Additionally,  he has returned to the Wildcats as a forward scout for the offense and “assistant to the head coach” (insert your Dwight Schrute jokes here), even though he is not taking on a position as a position coach.

Naturally, Clements is a member of the Wildcat nobility. A four-year letterman who participated in the Cotton, Fiesta, Aloha, and Holiday Bowls. both of Bill Snyder’s Big 12 championship teams’ defensive ends coaches. The man who trained Jeff Fitzgerald, Adam Davis, and Meshak Williams. In Manhattan, he has accomplished a few things.

After twelve years at Oklahoma State, including the last two as co-defensive coordinator, Clements is back. To the dismay of many Cowboy supporters who believed the issues were elsewhere, Mike Gundy rearranged the deck chairs at the end of 2004 in an attempt to save Clements’ job, sending him to the unemployment line.

More significantly, if any of Collin Klein’s original hiring don’t work out (or work out so well they get snatched), K-State will have a seasoned defensive coach in the chamber. Given that Klein was a player and Clements was on staff, it is clear that the two are well acquainted.
