The college basketball transfer portal is currently accessible from April 7 until April 21. College athletes will have two weeks to add their names on the portal, but they can wait as long as they choose to select a different school.
Athletes who failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament are beginning to declare their intention to use the transfer site. This indicates that these guys will add their names to the gateway when it opens on April 7th, not that they are already there.

Tyler Lundblade, a former Belmont guard, recently declared that he plans to use the portal as soon as it opens. Lundblade averaged 15.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during the Belmont season.
Lundblade’s three-ball shooting prowess makes him an excellent acquisition for Coach Mark Pope. Lundblade made 8.8 long-range shots per game this season, shooting 40.6%. He shot 48.1% on 6.5 attempts per game during the previous season at Belmont. One of the main reasons Lundblade will be sought after by coaches is his ability to shoot the three-ball.
Lundblade was the top player in the entire conference because he won the MVC Player of the Year award. Next season, Lundblade and Collin Chandler would provide Coach Pope with some of the best three-point shooting he hasn’t had much of this year.
Coach Pope requires guys who can shoot the ball at an exceptional clip in order for his offense to function at a very high level, and the 6’5 guard Lundblade may be such man. For Coach Pope at Lexington, the upcoming season will be crucial, so he needs to do very well on the transfer site.
Denzel Aberdeen and Otega Oweh will undoubtedly be replaced by the Wildcats. The ideal option to replace these players on the squad for the upcoming season would be a skilled veteran guard like Lundblade. Since he is clearly a two-guard, Pope would still require a point guard—possibly two, depending on what happens with Jaland Lowe—which he will obtain through the portal.
The 6’5 shooter seems like a fit that makes a lot of sense, but Pope and this staff have obviously not had any contact with Lundblade, and it is still unclear if they will pursue him. When the gateway opens on April 7th, BBN should pay attention to this name.
