“Honestly, the fans. As long as I’ve been in college I haven’t gotten to play for a fan base like this. I’m looking forward to being able to come to every home game and having it be packed out with diehard fans. And, obviously, I haven’t really won in college, and I hear people saying that. Winning is my biggest focus going into this season, that’s the most important thing.”
Brown wasn’t disparaging any of his prior jobs, Utah (a team that had a terrible season) or Fairleigh Dickinson (a lower-level Division I institution in New Jersey). He is aware that North Carolina, a Blue Blood program with a long history, is just different.
Fans swarm to watch the Tar Heels play, whether they are at home or away. For a competitor like Brown, who wouldn’t welcome the chance to play in front of one of the biggest fan bases on the planet, he is more than willing to give it his best in order to leave his mark on the program before concluding his collegiate basketball career.
