Latrell Wrightsell, a senior guard for Alabama, has endured numerous injuries during his time with the Crimson Tide. Wrightsell made a comeback this season after injuring his Achilles during the Players Era Festival, but he has missed eight games because of a variety of injuries.

Wrightsell suffered a terrifying knee injury during the first half of the Crimson Tide’s 96-92 victory over Auburn on Saturday. He never made it back to the game after needing assistance getting off the floor.

Following the game, Nate Oats stated that Wrightsell would undergo more testing to ascertain the severity of the injury.

For Wrightsell and the Crimson Tide, Monday was a good day.

Jon Rothstein claims that Oats informed him that Wrightsell’s knee ultrasound showed “nothing major” and that the senior guard should be able to play for Alabama on the road against Ole Miss on Wednesday.

With a season average of more than 11 points per game, Wrightsell is an important member of Alabama’s team. Wrightsell is 15-of-29 (51.7%) from three in the Tide’s previous four games after having trouble finding his outside shooting. This included a landslide victory over Missouri with a 7-of-10 performance.

Wrightsell is now 41% from three in SEC play thanks to his excellent shooting, which is a significant improvement for the Alabama offense.

This season, Oats’ team has struggled with injuries; Houston Mallette is the only player who has played in every game for the Crimson Tide.

Following Wrightsell’s injury, Oats has recently reduced the number of players in the rotation, essentially playing just seven men during the second half of Alabama’s victory over Auburn over the weekend.

This week, Alabama has two games that they can win to put themselves back in the middle of the SEC race. On Wednesday, the Tide travels to play the Rebels, and on Saturday, they return home to Tuscaloosa to play South Carolina.
