Other than Jaland Lowe’s choice to use the Transfer Portal, not much has been said about player mobility.

Jaland Lowe shows he may be Kentucky Wildcats Basketball most valuable offensive player | A Sea Of Blue

Since the portal won’t formally open for another four days, you shouldn’t be overly surprised by the stillness. Nonetheless, more than 500 players from programs whose seasons ended early are currently seated in the portal across the country. Additionally, you would assume that by now some of Mark Pope’s end-of-season player meetings from last week would have resulted in some public pronouncements.

BBN is sweating it out instead. Since our last roster update, let’s examine the most recent information and who has stated what.

Kam Williams is looking for role clarity

Mark Pope gives update on if Kam Williams could play again this season | A Sea Of Blue

The most direct quote we currently have comes from Kam Williams’ camp.

Greg Williams Sr., Kam’s father, recently told KSR, “Kam is just waiting to see what his role is going to be.” “You never know exactly where the team is going the next year once you’re on it.”

Put another way, he will depart if Kentucky actively seeks for the doorway to replace his minutes. In the end, though, he would rather remain in Lexington. That is a really reasonable and reasonable stance for a player to adopt. On this one, Mark Pope has the upper hand.

Lean- stay.

The massive Collin Chandler decision

Collin Chandler is poised to take a big step in his sophomore season at Kentucky

Everyone is waiting for this domino to fall. Collin Chandler has returned to Utah to see some AAU basketball, but there hasn’t been much progress on his final choice.

It seems like a true 60/40 stay-or-leave situation right now. One of Mark Pope’s most important summer decisions would be to bring Chandler back. You always want to have a top-tier, system-fluent player in the building to serve as the offense’s anchor. Fans will be continuously checking their feeds till he makes it public.

Lean- stay.

Cryptic social media posts and radio silence

We are strictly reading the tea leaves elsewhere on the roster.

Mo Dioubate, who we’ve already determined is a crucial member of this team, just shared an Instagram photo with a blue heart and a distinctive emoji along with the comment, “Surreal Season.” Although it seems like a good sign that he intends to go back to Lexington, a message this obscure makes it impossible to tell for sure.

Stay.

There is no reason to think that anything has changed on Andrija Jelavic’s end, since he has consistently stated that he would love to return. He seemed to be trapped.

Stay.

What about the remainder of the core? Total radio quiet. Malachi Moreno has been spotted browsing TikTok, but there hasn’t been any actual activity or information about his recruiting. Additionally, neither Brandon Garrison nor Trent Noah nor Jasper Johnson have communicated with us at all.

Right now, those choices are still 50/50.

Expect this silence to end very, very soon as the April 7 portal opening rushes toward us.
