Zech Fort has only been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for one month. Perhaps this is why the Notre Dame football team, as well as a slew of other college football programs, are so keen on displacing him from the SEC’s dominant position.

The Irish are right in the mix, and they appear to be one of five teams capable of loosening Georgia’s grasp on the defensive back prospect. Fort is the No. 127 recruit in the class of 2026, the No. 10 safety, and the No. 19 prospect from Florida, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He is a four-star talent who now plays for IMG Academy in Long Beach, California.

Now that the Notre Dame football target looks to be losing his resolve to stay with the Georgia Bulldogs, the Irish are trying to figure out the best approach to really put a wedge between the prospect and the SEC powerhouse.

Notre Dame football looking for Georgia flip

“So many schools are recruiting me even harder now than they were before I committed,” Fort told On3, as reported by Sports Illustrated. “Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, USC, and some others are recruiting me hard right now.”

“A lot of schools are coming hard and haven’t stopped talking to me, so I am just enjoying the process,” Fort told me. “I still feel good about Georgia.”

And, while he clearly adores the Bulldogs, his other statements suggest that Notre Dame football may have a chance. The next stage will be to get him to university, after which anything can happen.
