In Boston’s 6-1 victory against the Minnesota Twins at Fenway Park on Friday night, first baseman Triston Casas was taken off the field on a stretcher after he fell over first base after hitting an infield ball back to the pitcher in the bottom of the second inning.

“I have a serious knee injury. As shown on NESN’s postgame coverage, Red Sox manager Alex Cora informed reporters, “He’s at the hospital right now getting more tests and all that stuff.” “More details will be available tomorrow.”

Cora went on to say that he thought Casas was “in shock” while he laid on the ground getting assessed when he and the trainers walked out to the field.

According to Cora, “he immediately stated that he didn’t feel it.” It’s difficult. We wanted him to play on the field since he put in so much effort. And it took place. You work so hard throughout the off-season. He was looking forward to having a good season for us despite everything he had to go through in the offseason to prepare for this one.

Even though he didn’t start it the way he had hoped, he continued to run and train. Then this occurred. We adore this. We adore everything about it. However, you suffer since we are all human. They suffer, and so do you. It was difficult seeing him.

Cora said that witnessing a player sustain an injury during a game is never easy.

“Being honest with you is awful,” he remarked. That’s the aspect of the work that you dislike, isn’t it? when you have to send somebody down (to the minors) when they are harmed. It’s rather difficult because you’re scared to play 162-plus, and then something occurs.

We also don’t take it for granted because of this. being a major leaguer and showing up for work each day. He enjoys playing in the major leagues. He adores it. I believe it will be taken away for the time being, but I assured him that he will return eventually. “Oh, this is more than just a twisted ankle,” you think when you see the cart.

Casas missed the most of the season due to a rib ailment, playing just 63 games for Boston last season. In 29 games this season, he slashed.184/.279/.306 with three home runs and eleven RBIs.
