Even among the players on your own roster, recruiting is a constant in the modern era of college football. However, with players leaving for the NFL and using up their eligibility, Auburn Tigers football coach Hugh Freeze and his staff understood they would need to import a number of essential items via the transfer site.
Jackson Arnold, the former quarterback for Oklahoma, is undoubtedly the star of this year’s transfer portal haul. Heading into the 2025 season, the Tigers are starting a brand-new group of quarterbacks, and supporters are expecting for an improvement over the team’s performance at the position the previous season.
Eric Singleton Jr., a former Georgia Tech wide receiver who adds a wealth of skill and experience to the wide receiver group, is another standout from the haul. He’ll probably have a similar role to that of KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Following the 2024 season, the Tigers gained 20 players via the transfer site; according to 247 Sports, the haul is the eighth-best transfer class in the nation.
Is Auburn football played through the portal? Freeze essentially did everything but say “no” when asked.
When questioned explicitly, he responded, “I think so,” according to AL.com. “I don’t know of a single thing right now that interests us in it.”
