After losing badly in the 2025 Final Four, Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have made roster additions after a number of important players left.
Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, and Cooper Flagg, the starting freshmen, all submitted their applications for the 2025 NBA Draft. Tyrese Proctor and Sion James are similarly affected.
But starting with the recruiting class, Scheyer moved quickly to assemble a team that could compete on an equal footing in the 2025–2026 collegiate basketball season.
The twins of former Duke standout Carlos Boozer, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, as well as Nikolas Khamenia were among the three five-star recruits already signed by the Blue Devils (247 Sports). But they recently added the fourth best prospect to their class of 2025 recruits.
One of the year’s best international prospects, Italian guard Dame Sarr, committed to Scheyer on Thursday, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
Tipton said on Instagram, “Dame Sarr, On3’s No. 17 overall recruit in the 2025 class, has committed Duke, he told @on3recruits 😈.” “Selected the Blue Devils instead of Kansas.” The 18-year-old Italian wing, who is 6 feet 6 inches tall, has most recently been a professional player for FC Barcelona.

Sarr, who has been a member of FC Barcelona since 2022, made an impression on scouts during the Nike Hoop Summit in April by scoring 17 points and pulling down four rebounds in 25 minutes. After a recent trip to Durham, the 6-foot-7, five-star talent (247 Sports) was signed by Duke after initially being selected to play for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks.
“Duke was my dream school,” Sarr told ESPN for an interview. “Duke in particular was one of the many NCAA games I watched this season. This season, I played alongside Jabari Parker, who attended Duke. I had to go there as soon as I had the chance.
