Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have reacted to Newcastle’s stunning win over Aston Villa, sharing supportive messages about what appears to be a fantastic result and performance for Eddie Howe’s Magpies.

On Instagram, Staveley stated that he ‘could not be prouder of our team’ and hailed the traveling Toon Army for being up in force, despite the 8.15pm kick-off on a Tuesday night.

Ghodoussi praised our effort in ‘one hell of a game’, noting that it was our first win at Villa since 2013 and Unai Emery’s first home loss since February of last year.

Amanda Staveley: ‘Outstanding performance tonight! I couldn’t be more proud of our crew. Thank you to all of our fantastic supporters for continuing to travel regardless of distance. What a great night! 🖤🤍 #howaythelads’

Mehrdad Ghodoussi: “That was one hell of a game.” The guys worked their socks off. I believe that was our first win at Villa Park since 2013, and Villa’s first home loss since February 23. And let us not forget the great support tonight.

After five consecutive league defeats, this feels like a watershed moment in our season. A statement win and the return of Eddie Howe’s high-energy Magpies, who will now enter a run of winnable games with renewed confidence.
