The Miami Dolphins were eliminated from the playoffs this season, and they plan to make significant adjustments in preparation for a Super Bowl push the following season. They had terrible luck this season, as they mishandled the AFC Championship and the second seed, were beset by injuries just before the playoffs, and had to face the Super Bowl champion Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs. They’ve already hired a new DC, who has big ambitions for next season.

New Miami Dolphins DC Has A lot Of Plans For 2024

In his first news conference with the team, Anthony Weaver, the new DC, referred to Jalen Ramsey as “the ultimate chess piece” and stated that he will seek for numerous ways to make him the impactful defender he is. He intends to move him about next season, creating highly frightening looks for quarterbacks throughout the league.

“To have him sit outside and be a field corner or something like that, I think is a detriment, and we got to find ways to move them around where he can be most impactful,” Weaver said, according to Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald.

Weaver clearly intends to come in and make numerous adjustments to the defense in order to keep them flying on both sides of the ball. Miami had one of the league’s greatest offenses throughout the regular season, and if their defense can produce, they will be a force to be reckoned with. This club annihilated the bad teams in the NFL while losing to the playoff teams, therefore they are one change away from becoming a true powerhouse.

Jalen Ramsey Looks To Have A Bounce Back Season

Miami Dolphins Jalen Ramsey
Ramsey had a bounce-back season despite making another Pro Bowl, as the premier cornerback missed many games due to injuries. He will return stronger and more prepared, as the Dolphins fell short of meeting any of their true objectives. Ramsey wished his former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio luck as he prepares to join the Philadelphia Eagles to help mold their defense.

Ramsey is a future Hall of Famer, and Miami has plenty of talent throughout the roster. They were pretty unlucky this year in many ways, and they will have to overcome those obstacles next season if they want to be a true contender. This was a year when they should have won the AFC East and finished as the conference’s second seed, but everything fell apart. Ramsey and the Dolphins should be hungry heading into the offseason to prove all of their skeptics wrong.
