Despite 12 different offensive line combinations, the Miami Dolphins’ offensive line performed admirably in pass protection this season. They had the 13th-fewest hurries, the fewest quarterback hits, the third-fewest pressures, the fourth-lowest pressure percentage, and the fourth-fewest sacks in the NFL.

Their standout lineman, who suffered injuries last season and considered retiring, has decided to return for the 2024 season.

Armstead struggled with injuries throughout his nine seasons with the Saints, missing 38 games.

Armstead missed two games of the 2014 season because of a neck injury, three games of the 2015 season because of a knee injury, nine games of the 2016 season because of a knee and quad injury, six games of the 2017 season because of a torn labrum, chest, and thigh injury, six games of the 2018 season because of a torn pectoral, one game of the 2019 season because of an ankle injury, two games of the 2020 season because of COVID, and nine games of the 2021 season because.

Armstead has missed 11 games throughout his two seasons with Miami.

He missed four games in 2022 with a chronic toe injury and a Grade 2 pectoral strain, as well as seven games in 2023 with knee, ankle, back, and quad injuries.

He considered retiring in January

Armstead was undecided about playing next season, and he will not participate if his body is unable to withstand the injuries.

“2023 was Super Bowl or bust. I love the game, and I’m chasing one more ring, but I won’t be a guy who continues to play after his body tells him he can’t.”
