The supporters of Notre Dame football knew almost immediately when he moved to South Bend that new running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider would be successful. The Irish’s acquisition of four-star running back Javian Osborne last weekend yielded the most dividend. With the former of 4-star prospect Jonaz Walton, he could be ready to pay off once more.
Walton has been making progress toward the Blue and Gold’s commitment lately, and the prospect told anybody who would listen how “amazing” a recent unofficial visit was. In fact, the Carrollton, Georgia target is now expected to land in South Bend very soon, demonstrating how incredible things are right now.
Notre Dame trending for another elite RB in 2026 class
On3’s Steve Wiltfong has officially submitted a Fongbomb for Notre Dame football to land Walton, continuing what has really been an amazing recruiting run, right on going.
The Irish are beating out some impressive suitors, if he pulls the trigger and more than Wiltfong is pointing that way. Walton has had offers from other states, including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.
It would always be appealing to choose a player from the Bulldogs’ neighborhood, and Seider, who is obviously still trying to sign Messiah Mickens, would be very fortunate to acquire a second-best running back (he is regarded as the 10th RB in the 2026 class by On3’s Industry rankings).

It would appear that Mickens would no longer be involved if Walton committed to playing football for Notre Dame. However, the majority of supporters would accept that swap.
