Fredbird, the beloved mascot of the St. Louis Cardinals, is one of the candidates to be inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame.
Having played in more over 3,600 regular-season games, Fredbird has contributed to three Cardinals World Series victories. Along with that, he co-hosts the television program “Cardinals Kids.”
Through May 24, fans may cast their votes at mascothalloffame.com for Fredbird and the other 27 finalists. June will see the announcement of the inductees.
Before closing last year, the Mascot Hall of Fame was situated in northwest Indiana. It has yet to find a new home.
The first Phillie Phanatic, David Raymond, established the hall of fame in 2005. 33 collegiate and professional team mascots have been inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame since its establishment.

The Boston Red Sox’s Wally, the New York Mets’ Mrs. Met, the Milwaukee Brewers’ Bernie Brewer, and the Pittsburgh Pirates’ The Pirate Parrot are among the other Major League Baseball mascots that have been nominated.
Fredbird was unavailable for comment.
