Ahead of Jalen Milroe’s NFL debut, the Seattle Seahawks are already planning packages that will capitalize on his running prowess.

Those who witnessed Milroe, who was considered maybe the finest quarterback in college football, gallop for 33 touchdowns and 1,577 yards in his two seasons as a starter at Alabama, won’t be surprised by this. Before being chosen by Seattle in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Milroe also had an unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.37 at the Alabama Pro Day in March.

Brady Henderson of ESPN shared more details on the Seahawks’ Milroe strategy.

“Immediately — in a specialized capacity. In a piece released on Thursday, ESPN’s Brady Henderson stated that Milroe has to develop as a passer in order to compete with Darnold as quarterback one and maybe not even surpass Drew Lock as quarterback two. “However, Seattle expects Milroe to play a few snaps per game in packages that capitalize on his running prowess.”
