Finally, Slade Cecconi will be allowed to play for the Cleveland Guardians and their supporters.

With Cleveland, a team that produces pitchers like no other, Cecconi was hailed as a major bounce-back possibility after joining from the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Josh Naylor deal.

However, during spring training, he injured his oblique, which prevented him from making the major league roster and stopped his development.

So far.

Cecconi will start the second game of the series against the Cincinnati Reds, according to a statement made by Guardians insider Tim Stebbins on Friday.

“Slade Cecconi is set to start on Saturday and make his Guardians debut,” he posted on X.

Cecconi, his equipment, command, mannerisms, and other aspects of his game will be available for the Guardians and their followers to examine in detail.

Everyone will be watching him closely, and whether he likes it or not, he will be under pressure to be included in the return package for one of the Guardians’ most important players in recent history.

But his only goal when he takes the mound is to give his side a chance to win.

Although Cecconi had a dismal 6.66 ERA in 77 frames with Arizona last season, batters think his stuff is underappreciated and is even better now that he has an extension.

During his rehab assignment with the Guardians, Cecconi pitched 13 minor league innings and recorded a 4.85 ERA but a 2.43 FIP.

In his first start, he is sufficiently exhausted to post a workload that is comparable to that of a typical MLB player.

At last, Cecconi’s Guardian career is about to begin.
