The Michigan Wolverines defeated their Big 12 rivals by a final score of 91-72 on Saturday night, securing their spot in the 2026 National Championship Game.

Elliot Cadeau, a junior point guard who played 33 minutes and finished with 13 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, was crucial to the Wolverines’ victory over the Wildcats on both ends of the court.

As it happens, the NIT is also being held in Indianapolis this year. After his team’s victory in the championship Four, Cadeau told reporters that he intends to assist AU player and boyhood friend Tahaad Pettiford by going to Sunday’s championship between Auburn and Tulsa.

Cadeau remarked, “I’m not sure what time it is, but if it’s not too late, I’ll definitely be there.” “You know, it’s like a brotherhood thing because I came to support him when he was in the Final Four last year.”

Before going out to college, the two were longstanding AAU friends and grew up together in the New Jersey region. While Cadeau attended North Carolina for his first two seasons before transferring to Michigan in the winter, Pettiford has spent the last two seasons with the Tigers.

The two most important postseason championship games college basketball has to offer will now be played by the childhood buddies in the same city.
