After two seasons at Mizzou, he told On3 on Monday night that he intends to use the transfer portal this week.

The 6-foot-4 guard, who played in 33 games and made 14 starts for Dennis Gates’ side last season, is reportedly leaving for another team for the 2026–2027 campaign. Former Link Academy in Branson standout Barrett averaged 8.6 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Tigers, helping them qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

Barrett, who averaged 1.2 thefts per game this season—apparently his final in Columbia—was also a cunning defender for Mizzou. He contributed 22.8 minutes per game to the Tigers this season, who lost to Miami in the tournament’s opening round.

 

Barrett, a member of the Class of 2024, decided early on that he would remain in Missouri after committing to Mizzou in the summer of 2023. During his recruiting cycle, Barrett was rated as a 3-star product.

Barrett showed a significant improvement in every aspect during his sophomore season at Mizzou, having only averaging 1.9 points per game in 19 games during his freshman year. The SEC and the college basketball community are now waiting to find out where Barrett will play his junior year.

Mizzou advanced to the NCAA Tournament this year but was eliminated in the opening round. However, two teams are currently vying for the national championship in Indianapolis. The odds for who will remain standing late on Monday night are as follows, according to the Kalshi market.
