Now that Wright is in Lexington and Diallo’s situation is unclear, it’s possible that Kentucky is considering Wilkins and Wright sharing a backcourt. If Wright and Diallo don’t work out, Wilkins might be Kentucky’s next target.

In any case, Kentucky is obviously leaving its options open for the backcourt of the upcoming season.

Due to his prior junior college experience, Crews received a second year as a sixth-season senior at Missouri, where he played for two seasons. He only played nine games for North Florida in the 2021–2022 season, which was the season before his JUCO year.

The 6-foot-8 wing seems to have a good chance of getting an extension.

Due to the COVID epidemic, his 2020–21 season—the Crews’ actual freshman year—does not count toward his eligibility. The NCAA awarded an additional season of eligibility to every player who took part in that season.

In 2021–2022, he only appeared in nine games for North Florida. That is less than the maximum amount of games required by the NCAA to be eligible for a redshirt year. On December 6, 2021, at North Florida, crews accessed the portal well ahead of the season’s halfway mark and below the NCAA’s current 30%-of-games cutoff for redshirts.

After that, crews moved to Dayton State, a Florida junior college. The NCAA granted all former JUCO players a one-year waiver to maintain one year of eligibility in a decision last season that first permitted him to return to Mizzou.

Since then, Crews has participated in the sport for three seasons: two with Missouri under head coach Dennis Gates and one with UT Martin.

This implies that he will have one more season to play if the waiver is approved.

It looks like Crews will spend the upcoming season somewhere else if the waiver is approved.

Over the course of two seasons, Crews participated in 66 games for Mizzou, starting 11 of them this past year. For the Tigers, he averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per contest.

He mostly played as a floor-spacer and perimeter threat for the Tigers, shooting 38.7% from three-point range. 69.5% of his field goal tries during his career with Missouri were from beyond the arc.

Along with combo guard Sebastian Mack and point guards Anthony Robinson II and T.O. Barrett, he is the fourth Mizzou player to use the transfer portal this offseason.

At the time of Crews’ statement, Missouri had not signed any players through the transfer site. Five seats are available for the Tigers’ 2026–2027 roster.
