This season, the Philadelphia Phillies desperately need right-handed hitting outfield assistance, and it’s obvious that there won’t be many possibilities.
However, the Phillies would probably love to trade for Minnesota Twins phenom this summer if it were feasible.
Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report identified the Phillies as Buxton’s ideal trade destination for this season. By the August 3 trade deadline, the Phillies ought to be Buxton’s ideal destination because it makes perfect sense for all parties.

“But since Byron Buxton has a no-trade clause, it’s vital that his prospective suitors have a real chance at not just winning, but going as far as the World Series,” Rymer says. “And right now, the Phillies check both boxes even without a high-functioning offense.”
The Phillies are a fantastic fit for Buxton since they are a World Series contender, have an ambitious roster-builder in Dave Dombrowski who isn’t scared of a blockbuster trade, and have a clear fit for him on the squad.
Buxton would immediately replace Justin Crawford, who might be a part of this blockbuster trade, as the regular center fielder on the Phillies roster based solely on his fit.
Along with being the premier right-handed bat this club sorely needs, he fits in well at the top of the Phillies lineup alongside Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Brandon Marsh.
From the Twins’ point of view, they already made two trades with the Phillies during the previous season, moving Harrison Bader and Jhoan Duran in separate transactions that offered the Twins some intriguing possibilities.
Since the two front offices are already connected, Dombrowski should find it simpler to facilitate a trade.
There isn’t a team that needs Buxton more than the Phillies, is prepared to provide the package required to get him, and has the World Series odds that the Phillies do, even though some other teams would be a decent fit.
Although Buxton’s no-move rule is a barrier, it wouldn’t be impossible for the Phillies to persuade Buxton to accept a trade in order to pursue a World Series championship and rejoin with Duran on one of MLB’s top contenders.
With good cause, the Phillies were dubbed Buxton’s finest landing destination this season. Everyone would gain from a deal, and the Phillies are among the few teams that could satisfy the Twins’ high expectations.
