Offensive lineman for Notre Dame, had surgery after suffering injuries in a UTV accident during the Fourth of July weekend.
During an accident on Saturday, July 5, Jagusah shattered a bone in his left arm, according to a statement from Notre Dame. The school reports that the initial prognosis for the broken left humerus is “favorable.”
This week, he is scheduled to return to campus for more assessment. The injury happened to Jagusah while he was in Wyoming. His first MLB action since 2022 was against the Giants.
Charles Jagusah, a redshirt sophomore, started for Notre Dame against Ohio State in the previous season’s national championship game. In the end, the Fighting Irish lost the game 34–23.
He was anticipated to debut for Notre Dame as an offensive guard in 2025, but the injury may change that. When he might be able to resume his activities was not specified by the school.
After tearing his pectoral muscle in the preseason, Jagusah missed the whole 2024 regular season.
After making an appearance in victories against Georgia and Penn State during the College Football Playoffs, he played every offensive snap in the national championship game against Ohio State.
Charles Jagusah went to Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island, Illinois, before he signed with Notre Dame. He was chosen for the All-American Bowl and was rated as a four-star prospect in the class of 2023.
In 2023, the 6-foot-7, 333-pound player had two appearances and started at left tackle in the Sun Bowl, making him an instant impact for the Fighting Irish. Since Joe Alt in 2021, he was the first true freshman to start on the offensive line for Notre Dame.

Before sustaining the injury during preseason training, Jagusah seemed certain to start for Notre Dame in 2024. It is hoped that his injuries sustained in the UTV accident won’t prevent him from making his Fighting Irish debut in 2025.
