Another commitment has been obtained by Kentucky Football for its 2026 class. Tyler Wright, a safety from Bixby (Okla.) High School, became the most recent recruit to join Will Stein’s increasingly active rebuild on Saturday when he declared his commitment to the Wildcats.
Wright is the fifth unranked newcomer to Kentucky during the early signing period. Wright was a wide receiver and as for Bixby. Wright follows a lengthy list of recent Wildcats additions as Stein carefully completes the future roster under the NCAA’s new 105-player cap, even though he hasn’t yet been rated by major services. Evaluations of under-the-radar prospects are more important than ever because programs can no longer rely on large walk-on classes.
The pledge is made as Kentucky moves into the last phase of roster preparation prior to Wednesday’s late signing window. For the class of 2026, Stein and his team have been aggressive in developing and keeping some of the players from the previous coaching staff, including four-star athletes like cornerbacks Andre Clarke and Isaiah McMillian, wide receiver Kenny Darby, and quarterback Matt Ponatoski.
The Wildcats seem ready to end one of their busiest recruiting months in recent memory as the dead period gets underway.
