After a terrible 9-19 start to the season, the Philadelphia Phillies are enjoying an amazing 2026 campaign. After such a terrible start, the season is going far better than many would have predicted thanks to Don Mattingly.

This season’s NL All-Star team should include Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Brandon Marsh, and perhaps Jhoan Duran, Cristopher Sanchez, and Zack Wheeler. However, there are other Phillies representatives present at Citizens Bank Park this summer.

The Phillies will host top pitching prospects Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan at Citizens Bank Park this summer, as The Reading Fightin Phils announced on Twitter/x. However, why? Both of them have received invitations to the All-Star Futures Game.

Phillies send Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan to All-Star Futures Game

The Reading Fightin Phils declared, “Citizens Bank Park is where the future is headed.” “Congratulations to Fightin Phils pitchers Gage Wood and Wen-Hui Pan on being selected to the 2026 All-Star Futures Game!”

Therefore, neither of the two elite pitching prospects who are traveling to Philadelphia to pitch at Citizens Bank Park is a Major Leaguer. However, Wood and Pan will have the opportunity to throw in Philadelphia prior to officially joining the Phillies MLB team, which is a really nice honor.

On Sunday, July 12 at noon, Philadelphia will host the All-Star Futures Game. As the Phillies’ representatives on the All-Star Futures roster, Wood and Pan are two intriguing prospects that are worth watching this game.

The 22-year-old Wood, who was drafted from Arkansas in 2025, has hurled 52 innings in 15 starts this season with a 3.63 ERA and 75 strikeouts.

Another highly regarded Phillies prospect is Pan, who has pitched 22.2 innings with 29 strikeouts in 20 games out of the bullpen this season with a 3.18 ERA.

For the Phillies and their supporters, it would be entertaining to watch them in action at CBP since it may provide them a glimpse of Wood and Pan pitching in the ballpark, which they should soon be able to visit as major league players with the Phillies.
