Superstar Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels have had a somewhat strange start to the 2025 Major League Baseball season. The Angels are presently 11-10 roughly an eighth of the way through the season, and Trout has been hitting home runs at an outstanding rate, but he has generally had a poor start at the plate this season.
According to Chris Henderson (via Talkin’ Baseball on X), Trout has always come off as a modest player despite his superstar status. This humility was recently demonstrated once more when he was asked to construct his ideal outfielder utilizing traits of some of his MLB contemporaries.
For both the batting and the construction components of the game, Trout ultimately chose Aaron Judge, a player for the New York Yankees, adding, “Obviously (Aaron) Judge. “He’s 6’7″, he’s got the power, give him the power as well.”
To complete his dream outfield player, Trout selected Kevin Pillar for defense and Corbin Carroll for speed.
The emergence of the contentious new torpedo bats, which reorganize the weight distribution along the bet and helped New York set a season-opening home run total, has been a major factor in Judge and the Yankees’ successful start to the 2025 campaign.
Teams all across the league have seized the bats in a hurry, which may result in a rise in home runs in MLB season.
Trout and the Angels, meanwhile, remain on the verge of mediocrity, just as they have for a large portion of his potential Hall of Fame career. As was already established, Trout is attempting to escape one of the worst hitting slumps of his career as Los Angeles sits at 11-10.

The next game the Angels play is against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.
