The Mets are adding more players to their bullpen.
Before their series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citi Field on Wednesday, the Mets announced that left-hander Genesis Cabrera and right-hander Ty Adcock had been chosen to the big league roster.
Cabrera will be joining a bullpen that has just lost both of its left-handed relievers.
Danny Young may require Tommy John surgery after being placed on the disabled list on Wednesday due to a sprained left elbow. Due to a possible season-ending lat strain, A.J. Minter was placed on the disabled list on April 27.
After being signed in the summer, Cabrera pitched eight innings in Triple-A, giving up seven earned runs while striking out twelve and walking eight.
Carlos Mendoza, the manager of the Mets, stated on Thursday that “he’s electric when he’s around the zone.” “We have witnessed it.”

At Triple-A, Adcock threw seven innings while giving up just one earned run. He got one walk and six strikeouts. Last season, the Tigers claimed him on waivers. In 2024, he pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Mets and allowed seven earned runs.

Pitchers Chris Devenski and Brandon Waddell, who both threw Wednesday after spending a day on the roster, were demoted by the Mets to make place for Cabrera and Minter.
