Amanda Staveley could reportedly turn her attention to Everton after missing out on the opportunity to take control of West Ham United.
Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson believes Staveley is likely to continue searching for another major football investment after Daniel Křetínský secured majority control at West Ham, effectively ending her pursuit of the London club.
According to Borson, Everton could emerge as an attractive alternative, despite the potential deal requiring a significantly larger financial commitment.
The possibility comes at a turbulent moment for Everton. Frustration has reportedly grown among supporters following a disappointing end to the transfer window, with questions being raised about the direction of the club under current owners The Friedkin Group.
Borson suggested that Everton could appeal to Staveley and her financial backers because of the club’s new stadium infrastructure. Unlike West Ham’s Olympic Stadium situation, Everton already have a newly developed home at Hill Dickinson Stadium, potentially making the club a more straightforward long-term investment.
He explained that while Everton would be a more expensive proposition, the existing stadium could provide a major advantage compared with attempting to reshape or develop the Olympic Stadium.
Meanwhile, uncertainty also surrounds manager David Moyes. Reports have claimed that the Everton boss is frustrated by his relationship with the club’s hierarchy and remains without a new contract.
Moyes has also expressed concerns about the level of communication with the owners, while limited transfer-market support has reportedly added to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
With Everton facing growing questions both on and off the pitch, a potential approach from Staveley could dramatically change the conversation around the club.
