“Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper has been battling left knee soreness that reemerged last week after returning to play the outfield for the first time in four years,” ESPN reported on Tuesday. “Harper said he initially injured the knee during a game on July 11 but that the pain died down after the All-Star break. It has returned since he has gone back to right field in the wake of the Luis Arraez acquisition ahead of last week’s trade deadline.”

With his knee issue once again becoming a talking point, Harper was asked about his reaction during the game. The Phillies slugger responded with a brief three-word message to those worried about his condition.
“I was good,” Bryce Harper said, according to The Athletic’s Charlotte Varnes, addressing concerns about his condition after Friday’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Harper recorded the Phillies’ only hit in the lopsided defeat, as Philadelphia dropped another series heading into its highly anticipated Field of Dreams matchup in Iowa.
Despite appearing uncomfortable during one of his at-bats, Harper clarified that the reaction was not related to his lingering knee issue. Instead, he attributed it to struggling against the Cardinals’ pitcher.
“I took two really bad swings, so needed to keep my composure a little bit,” Harper explained, according to Varnes.
