He is said to be looking for a deal of £83,000 per week.
Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing a “outrageous” player in the January transfer window, with the Magpies having “come knocking” for him.

Newcastle transfer updates

Eddie Howe has had a difficult season, with injuries weakening his squad and both performances and results falling short of expectations at the start of the season. Newcastle may yet rescue things, with a top-four finish in the Premier League not out of the question – and the prospect of going deep in the FA Cup – but new acquisitions may be required.

On the plus side, the Magpies appear to be in the running for a lot of players, with several reports linking them to a slew of high-quality players. Rumours of a January move for Kalvin Phillips persist as he seeks to end a disappointing term at Manchester City, while highly-rated Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio is also being evaluated.
With both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak out with injuries this season, VfB Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy is another player who might join Howe’s squad between now and May.

A new story has arisen regarding Newcastle’s pursuit of one of these players as they aim to make a game-changing move during the January transfer window.

Serhou Guirassy is still wanted by Newcastle.
Newcastle are still interested in buying Guirassy, according to a new transfer report from Fussball Transfers [via Sport Witness], and the Magpies “have come knocking” for him.
Not only that, but PIF have been bolstered by the fact that AC Milan, another potential suitor, is finding it difficult to pay the 27-year-old, with his contract demands “proving to be a hurdle,” according to writer Giuanluca Di Marzio. He wants to earn €5 million per year, or £83,000 per week, at a new club, which Newcastle appear to be more likely to offer.

Guirassy appears to be a genuine goal for the Magpies, and his form so far this season shows he could be just what they need, especially if Wilson and Isak are unable to remain fit for extended periods of time.

Stuttgart’s star has scored 17 Bundesliga goals in just 12 games, trailing only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane in the tournament, and he has been hailed as “outrageous” by journalist Seb Stafford-Bloor.
Guirassy appears to be entering his prime as a footballer at the age of 27, and if Newcastle sign him in January, they may enjoy the best of him for the next four or five years, seeing him as a long-term successor for Wilson. They appear to be the frontrunners to recruit the Guinean, especially considering Milan’s financial difficulties, so a deal might be completed, adding more goals to a team that needs to go on a great run in the Premier League in the second half of the season.
