Swindon Town have completed the permanent acquisition of Southampton goalkeeper Jack Bycroft, subject to EFL sanction.

The goalkeeper spent the first half of the season with Oxford City, where he kept two clean sheets in a two-month stint. He has also spent time with the first-team at Southampton, traveling with the team to games on multiple occasions, but has yet to make his Saints debut.

The 22-year-old came through Southampton’s academy before signing a senior deal with the Championship club in 2018. He has also played for Weymouth, Dorchester, Taunton Town, and Aldershot Town in his career.

Bycroft has also represented England Under-19s, playing 45 minutes in a friendly against France alongside Anthony Gordon, Curtis Jones, and James Garner.

His stint with Taunton was particularly beneficial, as he played 48 games and kept 19 clean sheets as the Peacocks finished 14th in the National League South, earning him a spot on the division’s Team of the Season. Outside of the playoffs, Taunton had the second-best defensive record with Bycroft at the helm.
