Ipswich Town have dropped their interest in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher this month, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Kieran McKenna wants to add additional firepower to his team during the winter transfer window in the hopes of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The Ipswich Town manager wants to bring in a striker, and the club has been exploring many candidates.

Gallagher was a priority target, and the club worked hard behind the scenes to secure his transfer from Blackburn this month.

However, it appears that the Blues lost patience during negotiations and have moved on to other targets.

Negotiations progressed slowly, and Gallagher was hesitant to leave Blackburn during the continuing timeframe.

With less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Ipswich decided not to waste any more time in trying to complete a deal for the Blackburn striker.

The club is currently looking into different options in order to sign a new forward for McKenna in the coming days.
