Troy Deeney has revealed whether Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could try to recruit Bruno Fernandes from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

The former Watford striker dislikes Fernandes’ leadership style as captain of the Red Devils.

So, what has Troy Deeney said about Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes and Newcastle United? Let’s have a look.

Troy Deeney says Newcastle United won’t be interested in Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes

Troy Deeney has spoken about Manchester United offensive midfielder Bruno Fernandes, and he believes Newcastle United would not be interested in signing him during the summer transfer season.

The former Watford striker has stated that he does not like Fernandes as captain, claiming that Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard is a better choice.

Deeney has stated that if Manchester United made the £47 million (BBC Sport) Portugal international attacking midfielder available during the summer transfer window, Newcastle would not consider buying him.

Deeney told The Sun: “I’m expecting a massive shake-up of the playing staff at United this summer, and Fernandes will be one of the players the club will want to keep — but an incoming manager will undoubtedly look to appoint a new captain.”

“The Portuguese is an excellent player, if not a great one. When I played against him, he wasn’t one of those opponents who our manager would spend a matchday-minus-one analysis session teaching us how to stop.

“If United made him available, I don’t see City, Liverpool, or even Newcastle pursuing him. However, he is an excellent creative player with strong set-piece delivery and the ability to shoot from distance. His goal and assist totals are good.”

Newcastle United would love to sign Bruno Fernandes

In my opinion, Newcastle United would love to buy Bruno Fernandes if Manchester United made him available during the summer transfer window.

Fernandes receives a lot of criticism for his theatrics and demeanor, yet he is a very creative player who has had success in the Premier League.

In his 149 Premier League outings, the 29-year-old has scored 47 goals and assisted 38 times.

Fernandes plays for one of the world’s greatest clubs and has done well for them, and I believe Newcastle would love to have a player of his ability and experience.
